LIEUTENANT COLONEL JAVIER A. DELUCCA

Lieutenant Colonel Javier A. Delucca is the Commander, AFROTC Detachment 755, University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.

Lieutenant Colonel Delucca graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in History.  His first assignment was as an Admissions Advisor at the Air Force Academy.  Following this assignment, he completed undergraduate pilot training at Columbus AFB, MS.  In 1992, he was assigned to the 380th Supply Squadron, Plattsburgh AFB, NY, before completing KC-135 initial qualification training in 1995. During his two flying assignments, Fairchild AFB, WA and Kadena AB, Okinawa, he held numerous squadron level positions including Chief of Safety and Chief of Scheduling and was a KC-135R/T Instructor Pilot.  In 2001 was selected as the Assistant Air Attaché to Colombia, where he served as the primary advisor to the Chief of Mission and embassy country team on all aviation matters pertaining to the Colombian Air Force.  In June 2003, he was assigned to Travis AFB, CA as Assistant Operations Officer, 715th Air Mobility Squadron (AMS) and later, Operations Officer, 570th Global Mobility Squadron.  While assigned to the 715th AMS, he deployed to U-tapho, Thailand in support of Operation UNIFIED ASSISTANCE, the tsunami humanitarian relief operation in Southeast Asia.  Most recently he served as the Commander, 478th Expeditionary Operations Sqaudron, Manta Forward Operating Location, Ecuador supporting U.S. counter-drug operations in the Eastern Pacific and South America. 

Lieutenant Colonel Delucca is a senior pilot with more than 2,200 flying hours in the KC-135 R/T and C-12 C/D.  He flew 52 combat support sorties during Operation Southern Watch, enforcing the no-fly zone over Iraq and participated in Air Expeditionary Force II (AEF II), the first ever multi-fighter and tanker force, which deployed to Kingdom of Jordan in 1996.
